Description: Brevetoxins bind to voltage-dependent sodium channels, and the strength of binding varies with the specific affinity of the toxin and thus the relative potency. Symptoms
of neurotoxic shellfish poisoning include nausea, tingling and numbness of the oral area, loss of motor control, and severe muscular pain.
