Description: IgG antibodies play a crucial role in humoral immune responses such as phagocytosis, complement activation, placental transport and cell surface-receptor binding. It is the main type of antibody in human serum, secreted by the B cells. It consists of four polypeptide chains, made of two identical 50kDa γ heavy (H) chains and two identical 25kDa κ or λ light (L) chains, which are linked by inter-chain disulfide bonds.
