Product: Anti Alpaca IgG Antibody
Catalog No.: 111069
Description: Alpacas are camelids (like camels and llamas) producing particularly interesting antibody fragments, known as 'single domain' antibodies. They have a unique type of antibodies, lacking the light chain, in addition to the normal antibodies found in other mammals. These so-called heavy chain antibodies (VHH) are being used to develop single domain antibodies. VHHs have many advantages for biotechnological applications, due to single domain nature. These includes stability and functional at high temperatures, recognizing antigenic sites that are normally not recognized by conventional antibodies such as enzyme active sites. The antigen binding domains are small, about 12–13kDa.
