Description: Linolenic acid is necessary for normal human growth and development. Alpha-linolenic acid is thought to decrease the risk of heart disease by helping to maintain normal heart rhythm and pumping. It can be esterified to form neutral and polar lipids such as phospholipids, triacylglycerols, and cholesterol esters. As part of membrane phospholipids, linoleic acid, functions as a structural component to maintain a certain level of membrane fluidity of the transdermal water barrier of the epidermis.
Immunogen: Linolenic acid is linked to the carrier.

Specificity: Linolenic acid. Cross reactivity not tested.
