Description: The crystallizable fragment (Fc),interacts with other elements of the immune system, such as phagocytes or components of the complement pathway, to promote removal of the antigen. It is now obvious that IgM may also elicit its activity through FcμR as a result of the identification of the IgM Fc receptor (FcμR). Mouse FcμR have no inhibitory activity against Fas-mediated apoptosis.
