Description: This is a proprietary liquid reagent used to stop the TMB ELISA Substrate Reagent (Item# 561001) one component or other TMB formulations (3,3’,5,5’-tetramethylbenzidine) reactions by changing the chromogen into the second oxidation state of TMB and form a yellow reaction product read approximately at 450nm.
Format: Provided as a ready to use solution
Chemical Hazard: This product is not a caustic strong acid. It is a proprietary liquid mixture of chemicals designed to “stop” the TMB reaction by various mechanisms. It should be treated with the same precautions as any other weak acid or salt. See MSDS.
Usage: This product is used to terminate TMB Microwell substrates and change the absorbance from blue (650 nm) to yellow (450 nm). Equal volumes of substrate and terminator solution should be used. When TMB peroxidase substrate solution is reacted with peroxidase, a reaction ensues producing a blue colored liquid product (oxidized state). The reaction can be terminated using this proprietary Yellow Stop specifically designed for TMB substrates. Following termination of the reaction, a second oxidized state is produced resulting in a soluble yellow reaction product. The colored product is stable for at least two hours.
Storage: Recommended to store at 2° to 8°C in refrigerator.
Shelf Life: This product is a liquid reagent and is stable for a minimum of 2 years is stored as recommended. Refrigerated temperatures will not adversely affect the reagent.
